WHAT I DO

There are two ways you can work with me to grow your strength– personal training sessions and online coaching.

The key difference is that for personal training, we will be scheduling time together and you will either come to my gym or we’ll meet on Zoom (or a mix of both!), and for online coaching you will be doing your own 3-5 personalized workouts each week with ongoing structured feedback and support from me.

online coaching IS…

… A collaborative online strength program built around your goals, schedule, and preferences, with personalized workouts, twice monthly check ins, and any support or adjustments you need to keep you moving forwards

… Ideal for folks of any experience level who want to set goals and smash them, and who thrive with structure and accountability

… For people who want to be lifting/strength training more often than 1-2x a week and want to have a plan they know will work

… For people who have access to weights and gym equipment, whether thats barbells at the gym or dumbbells at home (or a mix of both)

I’ve been doing personal training for 6+ years and online coaching for 4+ years, and I’ve seen a lot of people succeed with both approaches. If you’re not sure what will work for you, or you have more questions, feel free to DM on Instagram or send me an email stevie@rockyour.fitness

Testimonials

Tori W:

“Stevie is nothing short of an angel that helped me not only get through the pandemic with my sanity intact, but avoid succumbing to more back pain in the process. Physical therapists had made it clear I needed to supplement my sport (mountain biking) with strength training lest I re-aggravate my back issues. With only a small range of kettlebells, one pair of dumbbells, and some resistance bands to my name, Stevie was able to put together an at-home training plan to keep me on track during the wild, early days of the pandemic. And boy did I get stronger! The consistency and check ins kept my muscles growing and gave some structure to my weeks in the deepest pits of shelter in place, and we worked together to make sure it was exercises that would most benefit my primary sport.

Once things felt more face to face comfortable, she accommodated a hybrid program where I came in one day a week in person to relearn my barbell lifts. Now I've got the skills I need to do all the major barbell lifts. All told this got me through THREE YEARS of the pandemic with increased strength, greater ability on the bikes thanks to it, and minimized back stiffness.”

Jamie R:

“I started working with Stevie at a really interesting point in my life. I'm no stranger to a barbell or a gym, and I've been working out consistently for years. However, I was tired of writing my own workouts and the inconsistent results. Additionally, I had major surgery in early 2022 and wanted a new routine. After being cleared to work out and begin a new phase in my recovery, I needed a knowledgeable professional who could accommodate my abilities and limitations.

Enter Stevie. I've been working with Stevie for now over six months and it has been a collaborative and compassionate experience. They're incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. We worked together to ensure my exercises and routines were accessible for my needs, and we both communicated whenever questions popped up. They're a great cheerleader and I feel cared for. Stevie's values align with my own so it's been a great fit.”

Samantha P:

“I’ve worked remotely with Stevie for nearly 3 years and her coaching has been the most consistent I’ve ever experienced, even being on the opposite coast with a 3 hour time difference!

I’ve had a lot of personal struggles during our time together and she’s always been a positive support and has adapted my programming whenever needed. Her coaching focuses on getting you STRONG in the healthiest way possible. She’s always been open to feedback on programming and will politely push back if she needs to in order to help you meet your goals.

As a woman weightlifter I appreciate that she’s a strong af femme who works with queer people and shuns toxic masculinity, which is so prevalent in weightlifting culture.”

FAQ

Does online coaching actually work?

It does– if you do! Online coaching is different from personal training in that there isn’t always set, scheduled things to show up for, which can make it harder to stick to. You do need to be able to get going with a workout by yourself– and it is always my goal to help you build those goals, regardless of how we’re working together. In many ways, online coaching is more value as you can get feedback on every workout, versus just one a week, and you will learn how to follow a program that uses progressive overload to build your strength and capacity in strategic ways.

How do I get feedback on my lifts?

You will need to upload videos of yourself lifting into the TrueCoach app, usually 1-2 per lift, so I can give you detailed feedback. Please check your gym’s video recording policy and try not to get in trouble. While people love to hate on women who record their lifts, it’s actually very normal in the powerlifting and weightlifting communities to record lifts to monitor form and track progress.

What if I have a problem?

If something comes up, like you’re finding one lift particularly challenging or you have an injury to work around, you can send me a message via the TrueCoach app and I’ll adjust your workouts as needed.

How often do we check in?

Every 2 weeks there’ll be a short written check in for you to fill out, and there’s always the option to schedule a quick call with me. You can also message me whenever and I’ll get back to you usually in under 24 hours.

What are the workouts like?

Depends on you! If you’ve never lifted before, we’ll start with bodyweight and dumbbell exercises to develop solid movement patterns. If you have more experience, we may start with barbell lifts right away. We’ll go over this in detail together in your onboarding call. I can promise you there will not be any cardio, unless you specifically ask for it, and even then it’ll be more like… lifting weights but faster. I’m a strength girly.

What if I’m going on vacation during the 6 months?

Please let me know during the onboarding process of any pre-planned vacations and those can be factored in! Beyond that, once the program has begun it will run for 6 consecutive months, without pauses.

Do you have a sliding scale?

While I do normally offer a sliding scale, I am not for this particular offer. If a payment plan would make online coaching accessible to you and paying in full is a barrier, please feel free to reach out.
